Easter 2014

The sun is shining in Sussex and Spring really seems to have sprung. Our little fruit trees are in bloom and the robins are demanding food every few minutes. I suppose they manage on their own when we go out…

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert Opera Danube put on at Bentley and Skinner in Piccadilly last week. Many thanks to Mark and to Omar for their generosity- I just wish they had let us keep the jewels….

On Tuesday this week, Bryn Terfel came and wowed everyone with his fabulous singing at a gala in aid of BYO at the Drapers’ Hall. It was a wonderful evening, with the BYO Alumni giving us a varied and exciting concert, accompanied by Nicholas Bosworth. Many congratulations to Stuart Barker for devising the programme, and to everyone involved in this memorable evening. Bryn was so generous with his time and his performances: he is a force of nature indeed.

I should be practising and learning words for lots of concerts in May and June, but I am about to bake a simnel cake and pull some weeds out of the flower beds. Happy Easter to everyone. FL
