Happy New Year!

A Happy New Year to all of you who look at my website, and thank you for dropping in! I hope you all survived the snow and ice, the 'flu and the VAT increase. After almost a month's break, I'm looking forward to getting back to singing, in Lyon, Bremen and Hamburg in January, in various fun programmes including serious and light music: with Jason Carr in Lyon, in a recital staged by Laurent Pelly, in Bremen with Graeme Jenkins, with whom I sang at Glyndebourne many years ago, and in Hamburg with Jeffrey Tate. I have sung Mozart, Britten and Richard Strauss with Jeffrey over the years, but in Hamburg we are going to do a light programme in which Jeffrey will play the piano and sing- I wish I could play the piano for him but sadly, I didn't practise enough as a child so I shall just have to sing.

2011 is full of good things. In February I shall be singing Schumann with Sarah Connolly and Eugene Asti. I'm going back to Japan in April for two recitals with Graham Johnson in Tokyo, and to Venice for a concert with Isabelle Moretti in May. I hope to see you somewhere, sometime!  FL
